Runi Weihe
I write literary fiction and poetry, and am in the middle of writing a collection of travelogues that are thematically centered around sculptures. The previous texts have had Mexico City, Venice, New York, Ireland and Copenhagen as their backdrop, and have studied sculptures through the Aztecs work in relief, the gravestones in the cemetery of San Michele, the void left by the twin towers in New York, the abstract sculptures of Gerda Frömel in Dublin, and more classically the statues in Thorvaldsens Museum and the Glyptotek in Copenhagen. During the period at the Danish Institut in Rome I will write a series of texts that are set in Rome and where the sculptural is engaged through ruins. This will be the last and final part of the collection, which I also hope to be able to finish a final draft of during my stay at the Institute.
